Peroj – Small Istrian village

Peroj

Peroj is located on the southwest coast of southern Istria, and it’s position is characterized by a beautiful view of the Fažana Channel and the Brijuni Archipelago. It’s favorable geographical location is also supported by the fact that it is about ten kilometers away from Pula, and approximately 5 kilometers away from Vodnjan, which means that it is excellently connected to larger Istrian cities, if you want the hustle and bustle of the city or if you need certain facilities that may not be available in Peroj.

Peroj has recognized it’s great tourist potential and has accordingly been urbanized in a way to offer visitors a pleasant stay and to get to know it’s untouched beauty. It is a valuable and interesting archaeological site from the Roman era, so we recommend it to those who want a vacation away from the noise, but close to cities with a rich cultural heritage.

Based on the well-recognized potential, luxury villas for sale and rent are starting to be built in Peroj, which will give you peace and evoke the beauty of the small Istrian town.

The coast of Peroj is made of limestone rocks that descends to the sea and is interspersed with pebble beaches and stretches all the way to Portić and Marić bays, which for centuries were Vodnjan’s ports through which trade with Venice and other Adriatic ports took place. The beaches are pebbly and surrounded by crystal clear sea, which in the summer months reaches the ideal temperature for enjoyment, thanks to the amazing fact that Peroj has 2400 hours of sunshine during the year. Along the 2.5 km long promenade that stretches all the way to Fažana, there are beach bars where you can refresh yourself with your favorite drink or enjoy activities on the water. In the evenings, during the season, you can enjoy the sounds of live music by the sea.

There are two beaches for dogs in Peroj, of which the newly opened beach on Portić is fully equipped to accommodate four-legged visitors. The beach is equipped with shade tents, a special shower for pets and additional trash cans.

Peroj is known for the production of premium olive oil, which is one of the delicacies of the Istrian region. Culinary lovers can taste Istrian cuisine and the delicacies of this region in numerous restaurants that prepare autochthonous fish and meat dishes of excellent quality.
